Schedule: Sidewalk, curb ramp work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Marin County — Caltrans is scheduled to begin construction on the State Route 131 (Tiburon Boulevard) Capital Preventive Maintenance Project. Curb ramp and sidewalk work could start as early as Monday, Sept. 21.
Curb ramp and sidewalk work will start at various intersections in between the US-101/SR-131 interchange and the Tiburon waterfront. Crews will start near the US-101/SR-131 interchange and work their way east.
Intermittent one-way traffic control may be required between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Paving for the project is scheduled for spring 2027.
Flaggers may be present to help motorists navigate traffic. Pedestrian detours may be necessary during certain stages of the work.
There are 28 curb ramps scheduled for work during phase one of this project. Some bus stop locations may be affected.
More specific information about other intersections will be updated on future traffic advisories.
The purpose of the project is to improve serviceability and ride quality on SR-131 and restore existing drainage systems to reduce the potential for highway flooding and to increase the safety for the public.
In addition, the project will enhance and complete streets and support active modes of transportation by bridging a gap in the transportation network and improve bicycle access throughout the area.
The location of the project is approximately 1,000 feet west of US-101 interchange to the Tiburon Boulevard/Main Street intersection.
