Revised: Ramp, Lane Closures Scheduled Nightly on US-101, I-580 for Capital Preventive Maintenance Project in Marin County

Marin County — Caltrans is scheduled to continue its Capital Preventive Maintenance project along US-101 and Interstate 580 (I-580) in August.

Various lanes will be closed on US-101 from Monday, Aug. 17 through the morning of Friday, Aug. 21 near San Rafael and Larkspur between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. the next mornings.

Lanes will be closed on Southbound US-101 between the off-ramp to Bellam Boulevard/Eastbound I-580 and Tamalpais Drive between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next morning. The onramp from Sir Francis Drake Boulevard will be closed in that same time period on Northbound US-101.

The Northbound off-ramp to Bellam Boulevard is scheduled to be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. the next morning.

Added: The off-ramps to Andersen Drive and Sir Francis Drake will be closed at the same times due to the short merge from Southbound US-101 to Eastbound I-580.

All work is dependent on weather.

Northbound on-ramp from Eastbound Sir Francis Drake detour

  • Head east on Sir Francis Drake Blvd
  • Continue on Eastbound Sir Francis Drake Blvd
  • Take the ramp on to I-580 and take the exit toward San Quentin
  • Turn left onto Main Street
  • Turn left at First Street on to Francisco Boulevard
  • Turn left on to San Rafael/I-580 Westbound on-ramp
  • Merge onto I-580 Westbound
  • Follow I-580 Westbound to Northbound US-101

Northbound US-101 on-ramp from Westbound Sir Francis Drake detour

  • Head west one Sir Francis Drake Boulevard
  • Turn right on to Wolfe Grade
  • Wolfe Grade turns left and becomes D Street
  • Turn right on to Second Street
  • Turn left onto Irwin Street
  • Take the on-ramp on to Northbound US-101

Sir Francis Drake Boulevard to Eastbound I-580 detour

  • Head west on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard
  • Turn right on to Wolfe Grade
  • Wolfe Grade turns left and becomes D Street
  • Turn right on to Second Street
  • Take Second Street on-ramp to Southbound US-101
