Contra Costa County — For the safety of the traveling public and construction crews, Caltrans will implement full overnight closures at the intersection of State Route 4 (SR‑4) and Byron Highway in Brentwood from Tuesday, August 4 through Thursday, August 6, between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. to allow crews to continue grinding and paving operations. Motorists are advised to follow posted detours. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Full Freeway Closures (SR-4 and Byron Hwy):
- The intersection and shared segment of State Route 4 and Byron Highway
Please note complete closures, as well as lane and ramp closures, will continue along SR-4 Sunday through Thursday nights between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. The westbound closures on SR-4 will reopen at 5:00 a.m. This project is tentatively scheduled to be completed by Summer 2027.
Changeable message signs (CMS) will be posted throughout the corridor to assist drivers.
