Overnight Lane and Ramp Closures Scheduled on Eastbound State Route 4 in Brentwood Between Balfour Rd and Laurel Road

Contra Costa County — For the safety of the motoring public and our crews, Caltrans Construction has scheduled overnight lane and ramp closures on eastbound SR-4 in Brentwood on Thursday, July 9, to Friday, July 10, 2026, to allow crews to continue paving operations, please prepare to merge and slow for the cone zone. Closure Details Thursday, July 9, 2026, 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Eastbound SR-4 Lane Closures

• Lane #1 (left lane): From Balfour Road to Sand Creek Road
• Lane #1 (left lane): From Sand Creek Road to Lone Tree Way
• Lane #1 (left lane): From Lone Tree Way to Laurel Road

Eastbound SR-4 On-Ramp Closures

• Balfour Road on-ramp to SR-4
  • Follow detour signs

Eastbound SR-4 Off-Ramp Closure

• Eastbound SR-4 off-ramp to Balfour Road
  • Detour to following exit at Sand Creek Rd.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Motorists are advised that complete closures, as well as lane and ramp closures, will continue along SR-4 Sunday through Thursday nights between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. The westbound closures on SR-4 will reopen at 5:00 a.m. This project is tentatively scheduled to be completed by Summer 2027.

Please follow posted signs and detour routes during these closure periods. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra travel time.
