Contra Costa County — For the safety of the motoring public and our crews, Caltrans Construction has scheduled overnight lane and ramp closures on westbound SR-4 in Brentwood on Tuesday, July 7, to Wednesday, July 8, 2026, to allow crews to perform paving operations, please prepare to merge and slow for the cone zone. Westbound SR-4 Lane Closures
- Lane #2 (right lane): From Laurel Road to State Route 160
- Lane #1 (left lane): From Lone Tree Way to Laurel Road
- Lane #1 (left lane): From Sand Creek Road to Lone Tree Way
- Lane #1 (left lane): From Balfour Road to Sand Creek Road
Westbound SR-4 On-Ramp Closures
- Lone Tree Way on ramp
- Jeffery Way on ramp
- Sand Creek Road on ramp
- Balfour Road on ramp
Westbound SR-4 Off-Ramp Closure
- Westbound SR-4 off-ramp to Balfour Road
Please note: All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change.
What To Expect
Motorists are advised that complete closures, as well as lane and ramp closures, will continue along SR-4 Sunday through Thursday nights between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. The westbound closures on SR-4 will reopen at 5:00 a.m. This project is tentatively scheduled to be completed by Summer 2027.

Please follow posted signs and detour routes during these closure periods. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra travel time.
