
Nightly Full closures continue between the hours of 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 AM
Contra Costa County — For the safety of the motoring public and our crews Caltrans Construction has scheduled full closures for ongoing paving operations on State Route 4 (SR-4), spanning from Hillcrest Avenue to Byron Highway to apply the final layer of Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt (RHMA). Full closures of SR-4 in both east and westbound directions will be implemented beginning, 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026, in the City of Brentwood between Lone Tree Way, to Walnut Boulevard until 8:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2026.

- Eastbound SR-4 between Lone Tree Way and Walnut Boulevard
- Westbound SR-4 between Walnut Boulevard and Balfour Road
- Westbound SR-4 will reopen at 5:00 a.m.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Drivers should note that Lane and ramp closure will continue to take place on SR-4 every Sunday through Thursday night between the hours of 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM . - Exit EB Hwy 4 to Lone Tree Way
- Turn right on Lone Tree Way
- Turn left on Hillcrest Rd

- Turn left on Vasco Rd
To Byron and Discovery Bay:

- Turn left on Balfour Rd
- Take the WB Hwy 4 onramp
From Byron and Discovery Bay:
- Turn right on Walnut Blvd
- Turn left on Balfour Rd
- Take the WB Hwy 4 onramp
