State Route 1-Tom Lantos (Devil’s Slide) Tunnels Annual Safety Inspections

Overnight lane closures July 6 - 9 , 10 p.m. - 4 a.m.

San Mateo County ― Caltrans will conduct its annual mandatory tunnel inspections of the State Route 1 (SR-1) Tom Lantos (Devil’s Slide) Tunnels beginning on Monday, July 6 at 10 p.m. In order to safety conduct these critical inspections, crews will implement lane closures and one-way traffic control each night.

Schedule

Lane closures start nightly at 10 p.m. and end the following morning at 4 a.m.

  • Monday, July 6
  • Tuesday, July 7
  • Wednesday, July 8
  • Thursday, July 9

During these closures, traffic will be directed through an open tunnel under one-way traffic control. Drivers should expect short delays.
