Northbound Off-ramp Closure Scheduled for Westbound Freitas Parkway as Part of Roundabout Project in City of San Rafael

Schedule: Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to close the northbound off-ramp to Westbound Manuel T. Freitas Parkway and the shoulder adjacent to the northbound US-101 off-ramp for drainage system installation, removal and reconstruction of the traffic island, as well as grinding and paving operations. This is part of the Manuel T. Freitas roundabout project in San Rafael.

The closure is scheduled from Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next mornings.

Detour for Northbound US-101 to Freitas Parkway

• Take Northbound US-101
• Take the Northbound US-101 off-ramp to Lucas Valley Road
• Travel Westbound on Lucas Valley Road
• Travel Southbound on US-101 on-ramp from Lucas Valley Road
• Take Southbound US-101
• Take the off-ramp to Freitas Parkway

Caltrans is scheduled to open the roundabout as well as the intersection of Civic Center Drive and Redwood Highway on the morning of Monday, June 8. The intersection has been closed since February to necessitate the construction of the roundabout, a new bus stop and northbound slip on-ramp.

All work is dependent on weather and other factors.

The project is scheduled to finish in the fall of 2026.
