Full closure of various eastbound and westbound I-80 on and off ramps, as well as the I-980 connector to I-880, including lane closure
Sunday through Thursday, Nightly, between 9 PM -5 AM

Contra Costa County – Caltrans announces ongoing closures associated with the Fiber Optic Infrastructure Project affecting eastbound and westbound I-80, I-980, and I-580 in Contra Costa, Solano, and Alameda Counties. Construction activities pertaining to the installation of new fiber optic infrastructure will take place during overnight hours, from 9 PM to 5 AM, to reduce disruptions to traffic flow.
Caltrans will conduct nightly lane and ramp closures on eastbound and westbound I-80 from West MacArthur Boulevard to the Carquinez Bridge. Additional nightly closures will occur near the Carquinez Bridge and from the I-980/I-580/880 interchange to the I-580/I-80 connector for the project duration.
Work is tentatively scheduled to continue through Winter 2028 and will require intermittent closures between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM, unless otherwise noted. For real-time traffic and lane closures, visit Caltrans QuickMap.
