I-580 Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Lane Closures

Contra Costa County & Marin County — Caltrans will continue lane closures on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (I-580) for scheduled maintenance activities. These closures will affect both westbound and eastbound lanes during daytime and overnight hours, continuing Wednesday April 8, 2026, through Thursday, April 30, 2026. Lane closures will occur from the Toll Plaza to the west end of the bridge in Marin County and in the opposite direction

Closure Details:

• Westbound I-580: Lane #2 and Bike Path closed overnight, Monday–Thursday, 7:00 PM–5:00 AM.
  Continues: Wednesday, April 8, 2026
  Ends: Thursday, April 9, 2026
• Eastbound I-580: Right shoulder and Lane #2 closed overnight, Monday–Thursday. Shoulder closes at 7:00 PM; Lane #2 at 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM.
  Begins: Monday, April 13, 2026
  Ends: Thursday, April 16, 2026
• Eastbound I-580: Right shoulder closed during daytime, Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
  Beginning: Monday, April 20, 2026
  Ends: Thursday, April 30, 2026

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers of closure. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed, and plan extra travel time. At least one lane will remain open at all times to ensure traffic flow. Please use caution and be prepared for merging traffic near work zones.
