Nightly Monday, February 23, 2026, and Tuesday, February 24, 2026
Alameda and Contra Costa Counties – Caltrans has scheduled nighttime closures of Bores 2 and 3 of the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 (SR-24) for tunnel washing, routine maintenance, and drainage cleaning. All work is weather dependent.

Bore #3 Closure WB SR-24
- Monday, February 23, 2026 –closed from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Bore #2 Closure EB SR-24
- Tuesday, February 24, 2026 –closed from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM
During the work, at least one bore in each direction will remain open.
Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
