Alameda County – Due to maintenance operations and to ensure the safety of the crews and the public, Caltrans will implement the following closures in the Webster Tunnel (Oakland–Alameda) and Posey Tunnel ( Alameda-Oakland).
Caltrans understands that there is never a good time to close a state highways, due to weather conditions, work had to be reschuedled to the available windows to ensure safe operations and complete separate operations prior to the start of the Oakland Alameda Access Project.
Posey Tube Closure
Thursday, January 22 -- Full closure from 10:00 PM to 11:59 PM
Saturday, January 24 -- Full closure from 10:00PM to 4:30 AM
Webster Tube Closure
Thursday, January 22 -- One Lane Closure from 7:00PM to 12:00AM
Full Closure from 11:59 PM to 5:00 AM
Friday, January 23 -- One Lane Closure from 7:00PM to 11:00PM
Full closure from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM
Crews will be working to remove graffiti, clear out built-up debris and other various maintenace related work inside and outside of the tunnels. Please note that one tube will always remain open.
