Contra Costa County — Caltrans will continue paving operations along State Route 4. Due to winter weather conditions, nighttime temperatures are not suitable for installing final striping, requiring crews to complete this work during daytime hours for safety and quality.
To accommodate final striping, daytime lane closures will be in effect for the next two weeks as follows: Daytime Lane Closures (Monday–Friday)
EB SR-4 (I-80 to Morello Avenue) 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
WB SR-4 (Morello Avenue to I-80) 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Caltrans Crews also plan to work on:
- Saturday, December 13*
- Saturday, December 20*

*Work will happen in only one direction of traffic. Drivers should expect alternating lane closures during closure hours and may experience delays.
