San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge (I-80 Westbound) Weekend Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled, November 7-9

San Francisco — Caltrans will perform overnight multi-lane closures this weekend starting Friday, November 7 – Sunday, November 9, on westbound Interstate 80 (I-80 Westbound) on the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge to conduct construction of the bridge’s tunnel portal lighting, This. work will occur on the westbound upper deck in the area between the Yerba Buena Island/Treasure Island tunnel and the San Francisco landing of the bridge. The schedule has been arranged to minimize the amount of time needed to close the bridge’s lanes.

Drivers should anticipate delays, allow extra travel time, and use public transit when possible.

Closure Schedule – I-80 Westbound

South Side Work
(Location: Westbound Bay Bridge between Yerba Buena Island tunnel and toward the San Francisco landing)

Friday night, November 7 into Saturday morning, November 8:

  • 12:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.: Lanes 1, 2, and 3 closed
  • 2:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.: Lanes 1, 2, 3, and 4 closed (four-lane closure)
  • 4:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.: Lanes 1, 2, and 3 closed
    All lanes reopen by 6:00 a.m.

North Side Work
(Location: Same stretch, including closure of the Macalla Road on-ramp from Yerba Buena Island/Treasure Island

Saturday night, November 8 into Sunday morning, November 9

  • 12:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.: Lanes 3, 4, and 5 closed
  • 2:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m.: Lanes 2, 3, 4, and 5 closed (four-lane closure)
  • 4:00 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.: Lanes 3, 4, and 5 closed
    All lanes reopen by 6:00 a.m.

Changeable message signs will be posted ahead of the closure area. The California Highway Patrol will be present for traffic safety. Work is weather-dependent and subject to schedule changes.
