Contra Costa County — Caltrans has extended the working days for a slope repair project on State Route 4 (SR-4) in the City of Pittsburg, near the Bailey Road exit, 6AM- 2PM daily Monday-Friday to reconstruct the slope embankment using Rock Slope Protection (RSP)while repairing and reconnecting the down drain to the existing drainage inlet; caused by storm damage during the heavy rainfall in February and March 2025. This work is necessary to restore slope stability and ensure proper drainage along the corridor.

Work Details SR-4, near Bailey Road exit in Pittsburg:

  • Hours: Monday- Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Traffic Impacts: Right shoulder closed in the area for the safety of workers and traveling public. One lane is slated to be closed Eastbound SR-4 in the morning late November 2025 for K-rail removal.
