Full Nighttime Closure of Eastbound State Route 4 from Cummings Skyway to McEwen Road

Contra Costa County – Caltrans has scheduled full nighttime closures of eastbound State Route 4 (SR-4) between Cummings Skyway and McEwen Road beginning Monday, October 20, 2025, through Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM each night. The closures are part of ongoing roadway repair and paving work to improve driving conditions and safety along SR-4.

Detour Plan For EB Traffic From Cummings Skyway to McEwen

  • Exit Cummings Skyway Rd. Off-Ramp
  • Left on Cummings Skyway Rd.
  • Right on Franklin Canyon Rd.
  • Left on McEwen Rd.
  • Right on EB 4 On-Ramp

Detour map for closure of eastbound SR-4 between Cummings Skyway and McEwen Road. Motorists should exit State Route 4 using the Cummings Skyway off-ramp before taking a left on Cummings Skyway Rd. Motorists will then take a right on Franklin Canyon Road and a left on McEwen Road before making a right turn onto the eastbound State Route 4 on-ramp.
