Contra Costa County – Caltrans has scheduled nightly closures of the North and Southbound on-ramps to State Route 160 (SR-160) from East and Westbound SR-4.

Schedule:
Friday, October 3, 2025, 11 PM to 6 AM
Saturday, October 4, 2025, 12 AM to 7 AM
Monday and Tuesday, October 6 and 7, 2025, 10 PM to 4 AM

Detour Information

Eastbound SR-4 On-Ramp to SR-160 Closed

  • Continue Eastbound SR-4
  • Exit on Laurel Road Off-Ramp (Exit 31)
  • Left on Laurel Road
  • Left on Empire Avenue
  • Left on Main Street
  • Left on Main Street/E 18th Street On-Ramp to NB SR-160

Westbound SR-4 On-Ramp to SR-160 (Closed)

  • Continue Westbound SR-4
  • Exit Hillcrest Avenue Off-Ramp (Exit 29)
  • Turn left on Slatten Ranch Road
  • Turn right on Hillcrest Avenue
  • Right on E 18th Street
  • Right on Main Street/E. 18th Street On-Ramp to SB Route 160

Detour signs will be posted, and Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers of the closure. Drivers should expect delays, allow extra travel time, and exercise caution while navigating the detours. All work is weather permitted.
