Richmond-San Rafael Bridge(I-580) – Nighttime Westbound Lane #2 for Maintenance

Schedule: Friday, September 26, 2025, and Friday October 3, 2025, 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM each night

Contra Costa & Marin Counties – Caltrans will be closing far right lane on the upper deck of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (I-580), Friday, September 26, 2025, and Friday, October 3, 2025,11:00 PM to 6:00 AM, the following morning due to camera installation and deck maintenance.

To ensure worker safety and preserve the structure, the lane closure will begin from the Toll Plaza to the west end of the bridge in Marin County. Lane #1 will remain OPEN. No closures in the eastbound direction.

Closure Details:
Westbound I-580 Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Lane #2 will be Closed Friday, September 26, 2025, and Friday October 3, 2025,11:00 PM to 6:00 AM each night 11:00 PM – 6:00 AM (nightly)

All work is weather dependent.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers ahead of closures. At least one lane will remain open during work hours.

Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed, and plan extra travel time.
