Alameda County — Caltrans will implement temporary one-way traffic control on State Route 84 (Niles Canyon) in the City of Sunol near post mile 15.5 at the Rosewarnes Undercrossing (U/P) and Niles Canyon Railway Brightside Yard. Crews will be installing and connecting a specially designed new guardrails to a newly constructed bridge on eastbound SR-84. The temporary one-way traffic control is necessary to safely complete this work.
Work Schedule:
- Start: Wednesday night, September 24, 2025
- Duration: Approximately four weeks (September 24 – October 24, 2025)
- Traffic Control: One-way traffic control will be in place 24 hours daily for the duration of the project.
Traffic Impacts:
- One-way traffic control will result in longer delays during commute hours
- Detour available:
- Use alternate routes via NB/SB I-680 to SR- 238
- From SR-238 back to NB/SB I-680
Work is weather dependent and expect travel delays.
