Contra Costa County & Marin County — Caltrans will conduct nightly maintenance on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (I-580), closing Lane #2 and the Bike path on the westbound upper deck starting Monday, September 22, 2025, through October 2025, nightly 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM. This closure will span the entire length of the bridge, while westbound Lane #1 will remain open. The Bike path will also be closed from 9:00 PM on Sunday, September 21 through 5:00 AM. on Monday, September 22. Bike shuttles will be provided for those impacted by these closures.
Closure Details:
- Westbound I-580, Richmond San Rafael Bridge Lane #2 and Bike Lane will be Closed Weeknights starting Monday September 22nd, 7:00 PM to 5:00AM through October 2025.
Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers of closure. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed, and plan extra travel time.
