Contra Costa And Solano Counties — Caltrans is performing essential T1 Steel Weld Inspection Project weld inspections and repairs on the Carquinez Bridge (I-80) and Benicia-Martinez Bridge (I-680). This work is critical to maintaining the structural integrity of both bridges.
After recent supply delays, Benicia Bridge work is scheduled to resume on Monday, September 8, 2025. Carquinez Bridge closures are now expected to continue through October 2025, weather permitting.
Schedule:
Benicia Bridge Southbound I-680 Lane Closures (resumes Monday. September 8,2025)
- Monday-Friday: 9AM – 6PM
Lane 1 Closure: SB I-680 from Bayshore Rd to Marina Vista Ave
Carquinez Bridge Eastbound I-80 Lane/Ramp Closures
- Monday–Thursday: 3AM – 12PM (through September 2025)
Friday: 1AM – 9AM
Full Closure: EB I-80 Onramp from Pomona St/San Pablo Ave
Lane Closures: EB I-80 Lanes 3 and 4 from Refinery Rd to Carquinez Toll Plaza
