Upcoming Lane Closures on Richmond-San Rafael Bridge for Maintenance Work

Schedule: Thursday August 14^th through Thursday August 29^th,Sunday through Thursday

Marin & Contra Costa Counties — Caltrans will perform scheduled maintenance work on eastbound and westbound Interstate 580 (I-580) across the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, resulting in temporary lane closures on the following dates and times:

Eastbound I-580 (San Quentin to Richmond Toll Plaza): Daytime

• Thursday, August 14, 2025 – Lane 3 closed from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM
• Friday, August 15, 2025 – Lane 1 closed from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Westbound I-580 (Richmond Toll Plaza to end of bridge):

• Sunday, August 17 to Thursday, August 21, 2025 – Lane 1 closed
• Sunday, August 24 to Thursday, August 29, 2025 – Lane 1 closed

Closure Times for Westbound Work:

• Sunday nights (Aug 17 & Aug 24): 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM
• Monday through Thursday nights: 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM

Motorists should expect delays, plan ahead, and use caution when driving through the work zone. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.

Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time.
