State Route 24 (SR-24) Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Bore Closures Maintenance Work

Monday July 28th through Thursday July 31st 10:00 PM-4:30 AM

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties – Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of the Caldecott Tunnel on Westbound State Route 24 (SR-24) for Biennial routine Inspections and maintenance, Monday, July 28, 2025, through Thursday, July 31, 2025, 10:00PM-4:30AM each night. At least one bore each in each direction will remain open during nightly work.

Bore 1 Closure Tuesday, July 29, 2025
Bore 4 Closure Wednesday, July30, 2025
Bore 3 Closure Thursday, July 31, 2025

All work is weather dependent.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time.
