Join the Conversation at the West Oakland Farmers Market
Oakland, CA - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in partnership with local community organizations, is proud to announce the near completion of the second round of public outreach for the Vision 980 Study, a community-led effort to explore the future of the I980 corridor in West Oakland.
The Vision 980 Study aims to improve the quality of life for impacted residents by exploring how the corridor could be transformed into new opportunities for housing, businesses, open space, recreational, and cultural facilities. The second round of outreach will focus on developing potential concepts/scenarios based on community input gathered during the first round of engagement in 2024, which included nearly 2,800 surveys and dozens of events.
As part of this engagement, the Vision 980 team invites residents and stakeholders to stop by their booth at the West Oakland Famers Market:
Sunday, July 6, 2025
10 AM – 2 PM
1809 Peralta Street, Oakland, CA 94607
Attendees will have a chance to learn more about the potential scenarios, share their ideas, and help shape what comes next for the I-980 corridor.
Members of the public are encouraged to share their input by participating in the new Vision 980 survey, available at: https://www.surveyhero.com/c/ri97pzvq or by scanning the QR code.
The survey will remain open until July 11, 2025.
