Marin County — Caltrans is scheduled to continue work on the State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project in May. The project started in the spring of 2024 and went into winter suspension in November.
There is paving and one-way traffic control scheduled from Five Brooks to Sir Francis Drake Boulevard on SR-1 from Monday, May 12 to Friday, May 16 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
Crews are also scheduled to finish clean-up work on the new concrete path near West Marin School in the town of Point Reyes sometime during the week of May 12.
Temperatures and other weather factors could affect times.
The overall project will repair segments of SR-1 and will include cycling and pedestrian upgrades.
The project is slated to make improvements during a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.
The upgrades include pavement resurfacing and repairs; restriping; culvert replacements to improve drainage; shoulder widening to help cyclists; guardrail, crosswalk, and signage upgrades; new signage; and sidewalk and path upgrades to meet disability access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.
The project is scheduled to finish in the summer/fall of 2025.
