Schedule: Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2
Marin County — Caltrans is scheduled to continue work on the State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project in April and May. The project started in the spring of 2024 and went into winter suspension in November.
There is one-way traffic control scheduled in the town of Point Reyes Station from Monday, April 28 through Thursday, May 1 between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next mornings. No-parking signs will be placed to let residents know about the work.
Crews will work on an asphalt path in the town of Point Reyes, just north of the Mesa Road intersection, from Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Pedestrians will be detoured across the street to another path on SR-1. Intermittent one-way traffic control could be used during this work.
There is also one-way traffic control scheduled just south of Point Reyes Station on Friday, May 2 from 5 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning.
Temperatures and other weather factors could affect times.
The overall project will repair segments of SR-1 and will include cycling and pedestrian upgrades. The project is slated to make improvements during a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.
The upgrades include pavement resurfacing and repairs; restriping; culvert replacements to improve drainage; shoulder widening to help cyclists; guardrail, crosswalk, and signage upgrades; new signage; and sidewalk and path upgrades to meet disability access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.
