San Mateo County ― Caltrans has scheduled overnight ramp closures in both the northbound and southbound directions on U.S. 101 at University Avenue in East Palo Alto from April 21 – April 26.  The northbound and southbound ramps will not be closed at the same time, but intermittent closures are expected between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning.  Construction crews will be performing pavement smoothing grinding work.

The northbound ramp will also be closed on Friday April 18 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday April 19.

Northbound Detour: Motorists are encouraged to continue on northbound U.S. 101 to eastbound Willow Road and turn onto eastbound Newbridge Street to enter westbound University Ave.

Southbound Detour: Motorists should take the Embarcadero Road off-ramp and access the northbound U.S. 101 on-ramp, then take the off-ramp to Donohoe Street where they can access University Avenue.

All work is weather dependent. Please drive with caution. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience with the work to maintain our state’s highways, bridges, and tunnels.
