Marin County — The Marin-Sonoma Narrows B-7 construction project continues in April with pavement repairs and crack treatment for the existing roadway, which requires ramp and lane closures on Southbound US-101 in Novato.
The work will take place just south of the Novato Overhead Bridge, extending to De Long Avenue on Southbound US-101.
The Atherton Avenue on-and off-ramps on Southbound US-101 are scheduled to be closed from Monday, April 14 until Friday, April 18 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. each day. The De Long Avenue on- and off-ramps are scheduled to be closed during the same time frame.
As many as two lanes are scheduled to be closed along Southbound US-101. At least one lane will be open for traffic.
All work depends on weather. Daytime access will be available for drivers.
Tentatively, crews could perform some work on the evening of Saturday, April 19 between the same hours.
Detour for on- and off-ramp closures for Atherton Avenue on Southbound US-101
- On-ramp closure: Drivers should use Redwood Boulevard and enter Southbound US-101 at Rowland Boulevard.
- Off-ramp closure: Drivers should use exit at Rowland Boulevard and use Redwood Boulevard.
Detour for De Long Avenue on- and off-ramp on Southbound US-101
- On-ramp closure: Drivers should use Redwood Boulevard and enter Northbound US-101 at Rowland Boulevard.
- Off-ramp closure: Drivers should take the off-ramp at Rowland and use Redwood Boulevard.
This is the last remaining High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane construction project as part of the 16-mile US-101 Marin-Sonoma Narrows (MSN) program. This project will complete and allow continuous HOV lanes on US-101 from Sausalito in Marin County to Windsor in Sonoma County. HOV lanes are scheduled to be open to use in the summer of 2025.
