Marin County — The Marin-Sonoma Narrows B-7 construction project continues in March with paving work preparation, which requires ramp and lane closures on Southbound US-101 in Novato. This work will lead to grinding down the existing pavement and replacing it with new asphalt.
The Atherton Avenue on-and off-ramps on Southbound US-101 are scheduled to be closed from Wednesday, March 26 until Friday, March 28 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. each day. The De Long Avenue on- and off-ramps are scheduled to be closed during the same time frame.
As many as two lanes are scheduled to be closed along Southbound US-101. At least one lane will be open for traffic.
All work depends on weather. Daytime access will be available for drivers.
Detour for on- and off-ramp closures for Atherton Avenue on Southbound US-101
- On-ramp closure: Drivers should use Redwood Boulevard and enter Southbound US-101 at Rowland Boulevard.
- Off-ramp closure: Drivers should use exit at Rowland Boulevard and use Redwood Boulevard.
Detour for De Long Avenue on- and off-ramp on Southbound US-101
- On-ramp closure: Drivers should use Redwood Boulevard and enter Northbound US-101 at Rowland Boulevard.
- Off-ramp closure: Drivers should take the off-ramp at Rowland and use Redwood Boulevard.
This is the last remaining High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane construction project as part of the 16-mile US-101 Marin-Sonoma Narrows (MSN) program. This project will complete and allow continuous HOV lanes on US-101 from Sausalito in Marin County to Windsor in Sonoma County. HOV lanes are scheduled to be open to use in the summer of 2025.
