Santa Clara County – Beginning March 10, 2025, Caltrans will perform overnight lane closures on both the southbound and northbound directions of Interstate 280 (I-280) from Bird Avenue to the US 101/Interstate 680 connector ramp in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The lane closures are needed for Caltrans crews to safely perform construction activities which include pavement resurfacing and construction of bridge approach at Bird Avenue. US-101 on/off ramps and connector ramps will also be closed during this time. Commuters should follow the detour signs during closures to ensure a safe alternative route. Local residents will experience construction noise. Work is scheduled to be complete August 2025.
Overnight lane closures:
Southbound and Northbound I-280 from US-101 to Bird Ave.
Monday through Friday: 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM
Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
