Full Overnight Closures on U.S. 101 at University Avenue in East Palo Alto, Wednesday Feb. 5 and Thursday Feb. 6

Detours in place; Expect 10-15 minute delays

San Mateo County ― Caltrans has scheduled two overnight closures on U.S. 101 at University Avenue in East Palo Alto. Caltrans crews will be removing temporary supporting structures from the area. Crews will prepare for the closure starting on Tuesday night at 10 p.m. All detours will be clearly signposted.

  • Northbound U.S. 101 closure: Wednesday, February 5 from 12:01 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Northbound motorists will exit at University Ave. and turn left at Donohoe Street, then take the northbound onramp back to U.S. 101.
  • Southbound U.S. 101 closure: Thursday, February 6 from 1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Southbound motorists will take the University Ave. offramp and follow it to eastbound University Ave. They will follow the loop to northbound U.S. 101 and then keep right to take the westbound University Ave. offramp where they will re-enter southbound U.S. 101.
