Schedule: Project scheduled to start Monday, Jan. 20
Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to start a storm-related slope protection project near Southbound US-101 in the Greenbrae area on Monday, Jan. 20. The location is just south of the Francisco Boulevard on-ramp in San Rafael.
The project will remove debris and repair and stabilize a slope along US-101 caused by recent rain events in November 2024. This project will preserve the expected life span of the slope above the highway, maintain the proper function of the roadway and keep highways open for the transportation of goods and services.
Traffic could be affected along Southbound US-101 just South of Francisco Boulevard W. on-ramp and along Tiburon Boulevard near Bret Harte Road.
Intermittent one-way traffic control of Tiburon Boulevard in that location could be utilized between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. starting on Wednesday, Jan. 22 to allow crews help to stabilize the slope. Tiburon Boulevard is a city street in that area, not part of SR-131.
The project is expected to last about a month. All work depends on weather.
Please drive with caution. Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert.
Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
