Daytime One-Way Traffic Control, Traffic Shift for State Route 1 (SR-1) Capital Maintenance Project Continues in Marin County

Marin County — Caltrans is scheduled to perform electrical, curb ramp and sidewalk work on the State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project the week of Aug. 19.

Intermittent one-way traffic control will be utilized for shoulder widening in Tomales from Monday, Aug. 19 to Friday, Aug. 23 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.

Parking spots for businesses will be affected.

Changeable Message signs will be put up in the areas to remind residents about the construction.

All work depends on weather.

This overall project will repair segments of SR-1 and will include cycling and pedestrian upgrades. The project is slated to make improvements during a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.

The upgrades include pavement resurfacing and repairs; restriping; culvert replacements to improve drainage; shoulder widening to help cyclists; guardrail, crosswalk, and signage upgrades; new signage; and sidewalk and path upgrades to meet disability access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.
