Marin County — Caltrans is scheduled to continue culvert, storm drain and curb ramp work on State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project the week of July 22.
Intermittent one-way traffic control is scheduled for culvert work in Olema from Monday, July 22 through Wednesday, July 24 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. A traffic shift will be utilized for storm drainage work in Tomales from Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26 during the same hours.
A traffic shift will be utilized in Point Reyes Station on Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26 between the same hours.
Changeable Message signs will be put up in the area to remind residents about the work.
This overall project will repair segments of SR-1 and will include cycling and pedestrian upgrades. The project is slated to make improvements during a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.
The upgrades include pavement resurfacing and repairs; restriping; culvert replacements to improve drainage; shoulder widening to help cyclists; guardrail, crosswalk, and signage upgrades; new signage; and sidewalk and path upgrades to meet disability access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.
The completion timeline for the project is Summer 2025.
