Caltrans Pilot Program Features Cameras Installed on Local Highways to Help Improve Safety and Traffic Management in the Bay Area

Oakland – Caltrans has installed nearly 200 cameras on select highways in the Bay Area to help the Department improve safety and traffic management in the region. The new cameras are part of a pilot program that could provide life-saving capabilities to motorists and people who walk and bike by detecting wrong-way drivers and significant traffic incidents.
