San Francisco — Caltrans has scheduled a two-day closure of two lanes on the northbound (NB) section of 19th Avenue from Wednesday, May 29, to Thursday May 30. The closure is necessary for maintenance crews to perform major pothole and pavement repairs along a three-block stretch of 19th Avenue between Sloat Boulevard and Taraval Street. One, final closure is scheduled for June 13, to complete repairs.

Repair & Closure Details:

  • Caltrans crew to work from 9 AM to 3 PM.
  • Two northbound lanes will close from 9 AM to 3 PM.
  • Motorists will have continuous use of the far-right lane (lane 3).
  • All lanes will re-open after 3 PM each day.
  • On June 13th, striping activities will commence shortly after the paving work to delineate the roadway, and additional paving repairs could occur, requiring lane closures.

The repairs are being made to fill severe potholes and improve overall driving conditions along the corridor. A more extensive repaving of 19th Avenue is scheduled between San Francisco State University and Golden Gate Park to repair southbound and northbound sections of the road in Spring 2025.
