Nightly one-way traffic control will occur during paving work
Marin County — Caltrans is scheduled to start the State Route 1 (SR-1) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project in mid-May.
Preliminary work is anticipated to begin as early as Monday, May 13, 2024, to perform jobsite surveys, install construction warning signs, and mobilize equipment and will last for several weeks. Once the preliminary work is complete, Caltrans will begin paving work along SR-1 starting from Olema and heading North on SR-1. Paving work will be at night.
Crews will also begin sidewalk construction within the town of Point Reyes Station and Tomales. Sidewalk work will be performed at night in Point Reyes Station. Caltrans will provide advance notification and specific times to impacted businesses closer to the construction dates.
This project will involve paving along SR-1 at Olema, Point Reyes Station, and Tomales. Additionally, sidewalks in Point Reyes Station and Tomales will be upgraded to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project also will improve drainage (eight culvert replacements).
One-way traffic control will be in place during paving operations.
All work is dependent on weather.
Please drive with caution. Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
