CONTRA COSTA COUNTY— Caltrans is scheduled to make bridge repairs on the upper deck of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, which will require two lanes to be closed, just after the toll plaza on the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge on Westbound Interstate-580 (I-580) Monday, March 25 from 7 p.m. until about 5 a.m., Tuesday, March 26.

Deck repair work on the upper deck will require closing the two far-left lanes and shifting traffic to the right shoulder (bike path).

The bike and pedestrian path on the westbound side of the bridge will be closed starting at 5 p.m., on March 25.

A shuttle pickup will be available and located at the following locations:

  • Richmond: On Stenmark Drive next to the CT Maintenance Facility
  • San Rafael: At the intersection of Main St. and Francisco Blvd.

All work depends on weather.

Changeable message signs in the area will been activated to assist motorists. Drivers should expect delays. Work is weather dependent.
