Alameda County-Caltrans has closed State Route 84 (SR-84) between Old Canyon Rd. and Main Street in Sunol in both directions after a road slip out was reported on the highway early Monday morning.
Caltrans engineers have been on-scene throughout the day assessing the slip out as one-way traffic control was in place until 4:59 P.M.
To ensure the safety of motorists, State Route 84 will be closed off to traffic starting at 5:00 P.M. as another storm system is set to impact the region and could bring flooding concerns.
On Tuesday, Feb. 20, Caltrans crews will assess the highway to determine if it safe to re-open to one-way traffic control.
