Multiple highway off-ramps scheduled to be temporarily closed along U.S. 101/Interstate 280 in San Francisco on Sunday, January 28

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes 

SAN FRANCISCO – Caltrans in coordination with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) have scheduled multiple off-ramp closures along the U.S. 101 and Interstate 280 corridor in San Francisco on Sunday, Jan. 28. 

Caltrans and CHP are assisting the city of San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) with the closures of off-ramps tentatively scheduled to start at 7:00 P.M. until 12:00 A.M. on Sunday, Jan. 28.

The off-ramp scheduled to be closed are as follows:

  • US-101 Southbound, Cesar Chavez St.  off-ramp
  • US-101 Northbound, Cesar Chavez St. off-ramp
  • US-101 Northbound, Mission St./Duboce St. off-ramp
  • I-280 Northbound, San Jose Ave off-ramp
  • I-280 Northbound, Geneva Ave off-ramp
  • I-280 Southbound, Geneva Ave off-ramp

These ramp closures in San Francisco are necessary to enhance public safety due to an anticipated increase traffic and pedestrian congestion during the National Football League (NFL) game scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
