Permanent bicycle bath along Redwood Blvd. will be restored as well

MARIN COUNTY — Caltrans is scheduled to restore vehicle access along Redwood Boulevard near Novato starting on Friday, Dec. 8 around 3 p.m. One-way traffic control will be used on the street adjacent to US-101 as Caltrans gets closer to finishing the slide project - a result of heavy storms from March of 2023.

Vehicles and bikes will be able to access Olompali State Historic Park too.

One-way traffic control is needed for the remaining construction along the retaining wall. Construction also continues for the Southbound US-101 shoulder for the lower retaining wall.

On March 21, there was a landslide detected near Redwood Boulevard and Buck Center Drive in Marin County. Later that month, PG&E built a temporary bypass that avoided the impacted slope and ensured safe operations. Southbound US-101 was shut down on the weekend of March 25.

Caltrans, PG&E, and the County of Marin have been in collaboration, monitoring the slide area.

Caltrans thanks motorists and cyclists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
