Nightly Ramp, Lane Closures on US-101, State Route 131 (SR-131) as Bridge Preservation Project Continues in Marin County

Schedule: Monday, Oct. 16 through the morning of Saturday, Oct. 21

MARIN COUNTY – Caltrans is scheduled to continue a bridge preservation project in the third week of October in Novato and Mill Valley. There will be on- and off-ramp closures on US-101 and State Route 131 (SR-131) as crews are replacing old concrete with polyester concrete in various locations throughout the county.

The Rowland Boulevard off-ramp above Novato Creek in Novato on Southbound US-101 will be closed from Monday, Oct. 16 to Friday, Oct. 20 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next mornings. The Rowland Boulevard on-ramp on US-101 Northbound will be closed from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. on those same days.

There will be various lane closures on Northbound and Southbound US-101 in the area during construction on those same days and hours. At least two lanes will be open for traffic.

The connector on-ramp from Eastbound State Route 131 (SR-131) to Northbound US-101 will be closed from Monday, Oct. 16 to Friday, Oct. 20 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next mornings. There will be a lane closure on the SR-131/SB-101 connector off-ramp from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. on those same days.

Travel on Southbound US-101 and take the off-ramp to Eastbound Redwood Highway Frontage Road
Take Southbound Redwood Highway Frontage Road to the on-ramp for Northbound US-101

The connector on-ramp from Westbound SR-131 to Northbound US-101 will be closed from Monday, Oct. 16 to Friday, Oct. 20 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. There will be lane closures on the Eastbound and Westbound SR-131 overcrossing on those same days and times. At least one lane will be open for traffic.

The project is scheduled to be completed in the winter of 2023. All work depends on weather.

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be on-site during the closures.
