Nightly Ramp, Lane Closures on Southbound, Northbound US-101 For Richardson Bridge Project in Marin County

Temporary striping from Wednesday, Sept. 20 to the morning of Friday, Sept. 22

MARIN COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled temporary striping for the Richardson Bridge project along Southbound and Northbound US-101 on Wednesday, September 20 and Thursday, September 21. Construction for the project involves the replacement of the existing asphalt concrete bridge deck surface with polyester concrete on US-101 at Richardson Bay Bridge in Sausalito and Mill Valley.

The southbound connector ramp from US-101 to State Route 1 will be closed on Wednesday, September 20 between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. the next morning. Also, the Southbound on-ramp to Redwood Highway Frontage Road will be closed on Wednesday, September 20 from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. the next morning.

Various lane closures near Richardson Bridge are scheduled to be closed on Northbound US-101 on Thursday, September 21 between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. the next morning. At least one lane will be open for traffic.

The Northbound US-101 on-ramp from Marin City/Bridgeway on-ramp will be closed on Thursday, September 21 from 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. the next morning.

The Northbound US-101 off-ramp to Seminary Drive/Redwood Highway Frontage Road will be closed on Thursday, September 21 from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m. the next morning.

All work depends on weather.

Take the off-ramp to Tiburon Boulevard
Go westbound on Tiburon Boulevard
Loop onto the on-ramp for US-101 southbound

NB detour due to the Marin City/Bridgeway on-ramp
Continue to drive on US-101 southbound
Take the off-ramp at Spencer Avenue
Take a left on Monte Mar Drive
Take the on-ramp onto US-101 northbound

NB detour due to Redwood Frontage Road off-ramp
Continue to drive onto US-101 northbound
Take the off-ramp to Tiburon Boulevard
Go eastbound on Tiburon Boulevard
Take a right on Frontage Road

The bicycle lane on the US-101 southbound shoulder will be shut down during construction hours on Wednesday. Cyclists can take a detour onto US-101 northbound to Frontage Road, turn on Hamilton Drive and then onto the Mill Valley Sausalito bike path. Detour signs will be posted.

The bicycle lane on the US-101 northbound shoulder will be shut down during construction hours on Thursday. Cyclists can take a detour to US-101 southbound onto the Mill Valley Sausalito bike path, take a right on Hamilton Drive and a left on Redwood Highway Frontage Road. Detour signs will be posted.

Permanent striping is scheduled in October.

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be on-site during the closures.
