Work schedule: Friday, July 21 through the morning of Saturday July 22
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY AND MARIN COUNTY — Caltrans is scheduled to close the far-right lane on Westbound Interstate 580 on the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge on Friday, July 21 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning.
The work, which will start just after the toll plaza and end near the Marin County line in San Rafael, is necessary for deck repairs. There will be one lane of traffic open on the bridge heading westbound.
The bike lane on the bridge will not be affected. All work is dependent on weather.
Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be on-site during the closures.
