Nightly Lane Closures on Southbound US-101 Due to Work on Richardson Bridge Project in Marin County

MARIN COUNTY — Caltrans will continue work on the Richardson Bridge project along US-101 southbound in July. Construction for the project will involve the replacement of the existing asphalt concrete bridge deck surface with new concrete on US-101 at Richardson Bay Bridge in Sausalito and Mill Valley.

As many as three lanes near Richardson Bridge are scheduled to be closed on US-101 southbound from Monday, July 24 through Friday, July 28 between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day. At least one lane will be open for traffic.

Cyclists can take a detour onto US-101 northbound to Frontage Road, turn on Hamilton Drive and then onto the Mill Valley Sausalito bike path. Detour signs will be posted.

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be on-site during the closures.

All work is dependent on weather. There will be some noise and dust in the area due to the project.
