Nightly Lane, Ramp Closures on Southbound US-101, State Route 1 Due to Work on Richardson Bridge Project in Marin County

Work continues Monday, July 17 through the morning of Saturday, July 22

MARIN COUNTY — Caltrans will continue work on the Richardson Bridge project along US-101 southbound in July. Construction for the project will involve the replacement of the existing asphalt concrete bridge deck surface with new concrete on US-101 at Richardson Bay Bridge in Sausalito and Mill Valley.

As many as two lanes near Richardson Bridge are scheduled to be closed on US-101 southbound on Monday, July 17 and Tuesday, July 18 between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next mornings. At least two lanes will be open for traffic. From Wednesday, July 19 to Friday, July 21, three lanes on US-101 southbound will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane will be open for traffic.

The on-ramp to Redwood Highway Frontage Road will be closed on Monday, July 17 and Tuesday, July 18 from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. the next mornings.

Continue onto US-101 southbound
Go eastbound on Donahue Street
Go northbound onto Bridgeway
Take the on-ramp onto US-101 northbound
Take the off-ramp to SR-1 (Shoreline Highway)

Redwood Highway/Frontage Road detour
Take the on-ramp to US-101 northbound
Take the off-ramp to Tiburon Boulevard
Go westbound on Tiburon Boulevard
Loop onto the on-ramp for US-101 southbound

The bicycle lane on the US-101 southbound shoulder will be shut down during construction hours. Cyclists can take a detour onto US-101 northbound to Frontage Road, turn on Hamilton Drive and then onto the Mill Valley Sausalito bike path. Detour signs will be posted.

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be on-site during the closures.
