MARIN COUNTY — Caltrans will continue its Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) and Radar Speed Feedback Sign project in July in the Stinson Beach area on State Route 1.

Work will continue Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There could be intermittent one-way traffic control in the area.

The RRFB will be installed on a crosswalk at the Stinson Beach School at 4805 Shoreline Highway.

Construction scheduled next week includes installing poles and equipment after the concrete for the pole foundations have cured.

The vehicle speed feedback signs will be at two locations at Stinson Beach – the southwest corner of SR-1 and Calle Del Sierra and the northwest corner of SR-1 and Arenal Avenue near the fire station.

RRFBs consist of two, rectangular- shaped yellow indications, each with a light-emitting LED-array-based light source. RRFBs flash with an alternating high frequency when activated to enhance the safety of pedestrians. All work is dependent on weather. Motorists are encouraged to slow down in the construction zone.
