PLEASANTON / ALAMEDA COUNTY – Southbound Interstate 680 REOPENED ahead of schedule in Pleasanton between Sunol Boulevard and Koopman Road Sunday night.

All lanes of southbound Interstate 680 are now OPEN between Sunol Boulevard and Koopman road in Pleasanton. The lanes had been scheduled to reopen at 4 a.m. Monday morning, June 12, 2023.

During the closure, the contractor replaced a portion of the existing deteriorated roadway with new pavement on southbound I-680, between Sunol Boulevard and Koopman Road. This work repaired deteriorating existing pavements and enhanced motorist safety while reducing the number of nightly closures needed on the project.

Caltrans thanks the motoring public for your patience during the closure.

The closure is part of a larger project that will build a new express lane on southbound Interstate 680 from Sunol to San Ramon and rehabilitate the pavement through Sunol, Pleasanton, Dublin and San Ramon to provide a smoother ride for thousands of motorists.
