LIVERMORE / ALAMEDA COUNTY – Four lanes are now available to motorists on eastbound Interstate 580 east of North Flynn Road in Livermore.
Caltrans shifted the highway to the left to resume four lanes being open at the spot where a retaining wall collapsed.
The shift is temporary until a permanent fix can be put in place.
Wind and rain caused the retaining wall to collapse, and the two right-hand lanes were closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Caltrans shifted lanes over to the left to create four lanes for motorists.
Caltrans thanks the motoring public for your patience as we work to make the necessary repairs.
