LIVERMORE / ALAMEDA COUNTY – Three lanes of eastbound Interstate 580 will be closed Thursday, March 23 from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The work will conclude at 1:30 p.m., but the two right-hand lanes of I-580 will remain closed at least until Friday, March 24.
Two lanes of eastbound Interstate 580 will be open for motorists.
Two lanes of eastbound Interstate 580 are currently closed east of North Flynn Road in Livermore due to a crack in the lanes. A third lane will be closed from 5 a.m. March 23 until 1:30 p.m.
The closure will accommodate work on the freeway. This work will pave the way toward reopening the freeway with four lanes of traffic.
The work will conclude at 1:30 p.m., but the two right-hand lanes of I-580 will remain closed at least until Friday, March 24.
Travel Alternatives
Commuters and other travelers are encouraged to use the Altamont Corridor Express. ACE Customer Service can be reached Monday through Friday from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 1-800-411-7245.
Signage is in place notifying the public of the lane closure. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
